This is it. Alana dropped another game is now three back with only seven to play. I can
smell victory lane and am looking forward to wrapping it all up this weekend. Ironically
the two of us have picked different outcomes for three games.
Youʼll have to excuse me as this has been a very busy week. I wonʼt be able to go too
in-depth this column because of time constraints but have a listen to Burn the House
and youʼll hear what Iʼm thinking for each pick.
Last weekend I went 3-1 and was kicking myself for taking Indy. I should have known
that it would be too difficult for the Colts to win twice in San Diego. Everyone is talking
about the Ravens and Eagles being the hottest teams in the NFL but I think itʼs the
Chargers. Watch out Steeler fans.
Baltimore @ Tennessee (-3)
I just canʼt back a rookie quarterback to win twice on the road no matter how good his
defense is playing. Iʼll give the nod to Titans coach Jeff Fisher to put out an award
winning game plan that this team will execute.
My Pick - Tennessee; Alana - Baltimore
Arizona @ Carolina (-10)
Bill Simmons on ESPN.com listed the 10 of 17 Saturday night playoff games since 2002
that have been memorable. Last weekendʼs game between the Colta and Chargers
made the list. This one wonʼt.
My Pick - Carolina; Alana - Carolina
Philadelphia @ NY Giants (-4)
Iʼm not making the same mistake twice therefore I canʼt pick the EAgles to win for the
second time at the Meadowlands. The four points will have a lot of people taking the
Eagles because they feel the game will be decided by three points either way but I donʼt
think it will be that close.
My Pick - NY Giants; Alana - Philadelphia
San Diego @ Pittsburgh (-6)
Here is my upset of the week. I think the Chargers will win outright and special teams
will be the factor. The Chargers have one of best punting games in the league and the
Steelers have one of the worst. Plus, I donʼt care what the docs in the white coats say,
there is no such thing as a “minor” concussion so I question how vulnerable Ben
Roethlisberger will be.
My Pick - San Diego; Alana - Pittsburgh
WILDCARD - JAYSON (3-1-0); ALANA (2-2-0)
OVERALL - JAYSON (111-93-8); ALANA (108-96-8)
